In the framework of its efforts to enhance environmental sustainability and support national institutions, the Global Civilization Initiative Center (G.C.I.C) conducted an official visit today, Tuesday, September 1st, to the Ministry of Environment in the capital, Baghdad.
At 11:00 AM, Her Excellency the Minister of Environment, Ms. Sarwa Abdulwahid, received the center's representative, Ms. Bushra Abu Al-Eis, a member of the center's advisory board. During the meeting, Ms. Bushra handed Her Excellency the draft of a comprehensive strategic project titled: "Building Ecological Civilization and the Importance of Environmental Governance in Iraq: Strategic Visions for Green Transformation."
This project, prepared by the center's experts, aims to activate the pillars of modern environmental governance and provide proposals for institutional and legislative reforms that align with the challenges Iraq faces in the fields of water management, energy, and combating desertification and pollution. The project also focuses on benefiting from leading international experiences, particularly the "Ecological Civilization" experience, to transfer expertise and eco-friendly technologies to Iraq.
For her part, Her Excellency Minister Sarwa Abdulwahid welcomed this initiative and expressed her appreciation for the role played by the Global Civilization Initiative Center in providing scientific and innovative solutions. Her Excellency emphasized the Ministry's keenness to open horizons of cooperation with the center to organize scientific forums and specialized seminars that contribute to drafting a comprehensive national strategy for environmental protection in Iraq.
The presentation of this project comes as a practical step by the center to build bridges of international cooperation and activate dialogue between experts and executive authorities, aimed at achieving sustainable development goals and ensuring a secure and stable environmental future.
